Children's Museum of Winston-Salem

The Children's Museum is located in the heart of Winston-Salem's revitalized downtown and on the edge of historic old Salem. Renovated brick warehouses and smaller mixed-use buildings characterize the site. This unique site setting allows for a clear definition of an urban image that links two different contexts and serves a variety of users. The final design promotes literacy and learning in an educational and entertaining manner. It offers opportunities for children and families' discovery, exploration, and interaction through a series of exhibit environments that engage the public in a unique children's environment. The center is also designed to provide educational opportunities that support the Winston-Salem and Forsyth County school system.
