Ragsdale
High School
Jamestown,
North Carolina
The
existing campus of Ragsdale houses three schools: Millis Road Elementary
School, Jamestown Middle School, and Ragsdale High School. The growing
number of students, the emerging requirements for teacher productivity
and student performance created the need to upgrade and update the campus.
Due
to the restricted site area, the school system decided to relocate the
Jamestown Middle School to a new site. This relocation allowed the remaining
site and buildings to be redesigned and planned for an expanded Ragsdale
High School complex. A
new image and visual character for Ragsdale would be a top priority for
the community. This was supported in several community meetings that discussed
the school’s future renovation and expansion plans. The
first phase is planned to provide the new media center, administration
and student commons areas. The
remaining project scope will be accomplished in future school bond phases.
