First Baptist Church is located in the heart of downtown Monroe. The church was in desperate need of additional space, but was very concerned about blending with their existing historic facility. Adams Group renovated 18,000 square feet of existing area and added 10,000 square feet of additional space to tie in perfectly with the historic structure. The new multipurpose center includes dining space for 400 people and a commercial kitchen. Associated functions include a child care area, gathering space for church events and needed additional classrooms space. The facility was developed with a new colonnade that provides brides with a protected shelter to enter the existing formal worship space.
